The MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS TEKS NARASI DALAM MATA PELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA MELALUI MODEL PICTURE AND PICTURE PADA SISWA KELAS V SDN SUKAMANAH 1

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of the “Picture and Picture” learning model in improving the narrative writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Sukamanah 1. This study employed the classroom action research (CAR) method. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, testing, and documentation. The research instruments included student activity observation sheets, teacher activity observation sheets, and student worksheets. This study was conducted over 3 cycles, with 2 sessions in each cycle; the research subjects were fifth-grade students at SDN Sukamanah 1. It was found that the students’ narrative writing skills improved from the pre-cycle through Cycle III. The students’ skill outcomes can be seen from their average scores: 66 in the pre-cycle, 69.4 in Cycle I, 70.4 in Cycle II, and 75.46 in Cycle III. In addition, the percentage of students achieving mastery in the pre-cycle was 26.66%, in Cycle I it was 33.33%, in Cycle II it was 46.66%, and in Cycle III it was 80%. Thus, the results of this study have met the predetermined percentage and minimum passing score (KKTP) of 70 and an 80% achievement rate. It can therefore be concluded that the application of the Picture-and-Picture model can improve the narrative writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Sukamanah 1.
